This Saturday the Vikings face their first opponent in their journey for state. The Vikings were placed in the 7A bracket, and drew Hersey as their first opponent. John Heresey High School is located in Arlington Heights, and they play in the Mid-Suburban League. They have a respectable record of 6-3, though the quality of play in their conference is questionable. Of the 6 wins Hersey had 5 of them were against teams that finished 3-6 or worse. Their only win against a team with a winning record was Rolling Meadows on week 9. The Vikings also have momentum going into the game, with a dominating win against Larkin last week. It won’t be a blowout, but Geneva is favored in this game for a reason.

The game will take place at Burgess Field this Saturday at 1.
