Homecoming Week 2018

Though the school year may feel like it just stated, homecoming is approaching faster than you think. Whether it’s your first dance and homecoming week or your final hurrah, here’s all you need to know about the biggest week of the school year.

On Sunday, all the school’s clubs, teams, and organizations will take to State Street to kick off homecoming week with Paint the Town. Each club has a predetermined window they will be painting to the theme of their club and the dance. Kickoff is at noon at Bicycle Heaven, where paints can be picked up. Happy painting!

To start off the school week, we’ll follow a PLC schedule; however, the free-time will be at the end of the day to allow for an in-school pep rally. Check the signs by the main office and the cafeteria to see who is representing your team in the different games!

On Monday night, the school’s annual powderpuff game will be taking place at Burgess at 6:30pm. Admission is $3, unless you’re wearing a 2018 homecoming t-shirt designed by Mr. O. Come cheer on the girls!

The school’s annual Blue and White Night will be taking place at Burgess on Thursday, with a bonfire following afterwards. Community members are also encouraged to come and support the high school. Make sure to stop by to see who will be on this year’s homecoming court.

On Friday, we’ll be getting out of school at 1pm for the parade, which will begin at the high school at 2 and march through downtown Geneva. The sophomore football game is at 5:00 with the varsity game following at 7:30.

And finally, the grand finale to homecoming week will be taking place from 7:00 until 10:00 in the contest gym. There is no entry into the dance after 8:00pm. Homecoming tickets are on sale in the cafeteria from Monday-Thursday this week for $30. Make sure you bring your student ID to purchase one!
