Powder Puff preview

Homecoming week is upon us, my friends. The next seven days will be filled with immense school spirit, a decent barbeque, lame themes, an awkward dance, and most importantly, the Powder Puff football game.

Now, as a Powder Puff veteran, one could say I’m pretty excited. Playing in the game at any level is fun, but playing as a senior? Well gee, that’s a whole different ballgame. Each year the game is called in favor of the seniors, and now it’s finally the class of 2015’s turn to taste that sweet, sweet victory.

The first game against the freshmen will serve as nice warm up before the big show. We can’t drop the ball completely (pun intended), but let’s face it, they’re freshmen. Rumor has it Sean Chambers is putting together a tough Junior squad, so they’re my pick for the final match up.

It’s finally the class of 2015’s turn to taste that sweet, sweet victory.

Coaches Jake Rocks, Nick Carlton, and Matt “Willy” Fisher have prepared us for whatever we might come across this Monday night on Burgess Field. Coach Carlton’s defense is centered around Hannah Bernas at nose guard and is complimented by Riley Sanders at corner. Due to Coach Carlton’s patience and relentless drive, he has his defense working like a well-oiled machine. On offense, you will be seeing throws from both Abby Novak and Keegan Dashner. Hanna Scharenbroch and Madie Keith will be moving the ball on the ground, and you can look for some snags in the air by Megan Albrecht, Makayla Koehn, Megan Fitz, and yours truly.

Yes, the historic GHS Powder Puff game is all in good fun; however, the senior girls of 2015 will be going for blood #RPB.
