In the world we live in, many men consider putting anything above minimal effort into their wardrobe abnormal or effeminate. This, however, is a pity, because wearing clothes other than sweats can reveal your personality and accentuate your appearance.

Whether you wear clothes to complement your eye color or you look for clothes that fit your personality, it is important to find the clothes you want to wear rather than simply asking your parents to pick you up a sweatshirt at Carson’s.

My go-to apparel location is Goodwill. This brilliant corporation is doing so much good that many don’t take time to think about. They are reusing clothes so they don’t end up in landfills, they employ people with disabilities, they donate the majority of their profits to other organizations, and they provide buyers with potentially expensive clothes and other items at incredibly low prices. With the ability to find very unique clothing items from many retailers in one location, consumers don’t have to break the bank or travel from store-to-store looking for all types of clothing.

It is important not to get lost in all the cheap clothing that places such as Goodwill and the Salvation Army provide. Not only will the price add up quickly, but it is essential not to have too many items in your closet. If you buy ten new pairs of pants, it is considerate to donate at least two of yours. This chain of donation can prevent clothes polluting landfills. It is always kind to donate clothes before they are destroyed and nobody can wear them any longer.

Because Goodwill separates clothes by style and size rather than brand, going down one aisle can be your entire shopping trip rather than trekking all around the first floor of a mall. It is always a new exploration every time you visit a Goodwill. Even if you visit a Goodwill and return within the month, new clothes are constantly being added to the racks, so you have to make the trip frequently to get things before they are gone.

Diversifying your wardrobe plays a large part in appealing to all walks of life. If you look into your closet and you see ten shirts of one color or twenty pairs of khaki pants, you may want to consider this one-stop-shop that doesn’t contain any pattern of clothes. That way, you won’t find yourself walking away from Kohl’s with another pair of khakis.
