Choosing the right college major

Choosing the right college major

All of us have been asked the same stressful question; “What do you want to do with your life?” If you don’t have an answer to that question, there are many people that are in your shoes.  Here are some things to consider and ask yourself about choosing a major:

What can you see yourself doing?

What makes you happy?

Are there hobbies that you could turn into a lifestyle?

If you’re interested in two things and can’t choose between them, find a way to incorporate both in your major.

What are you good at?

Will the path you choose make you enough money to live on?

Can you use your major in many different careers?

Why do you want to choose your career?

How many years of school will it take you to obtain credibility in your chosen path?

In conclusion, decide whether your major will challenge you or not. It’s good to be good at something, but if a major is too easy for you, you will become bored and want to be challenged. Make sure your major is something you can make a living off of and still be happy with yourself at the end of the day.
